New Delhi. The sales of electric scooters last month were very good. After the implementation of the new e-vehicle policy, the subsidy on electric vehicles has been reduced, despite which the enthusiasm of the people in the electric scooter market remains intact. Ola Electric, TVS, Bajaj, Ather and Hero MotoCorp were the highest selling brands in the country in May 2024. Ola Electric has sold 37,191 units of electric scooters last month. Let us tell you that in March 2024, the company had registered the highest sales of 53,000 units.
After Ola Electric, TVS came second which is selling its iQube electric scooter in the market. TVS has sold 11,737 units of electric scooters last month. The company holds a share of 18.42% in the electric two-wheeler market while Ola Electric’s share is 49%. Talking about Bajaj, the company is in the market with its electric scooter model Chetak.
Bajaj Chetak has sold 9,189 units last month and with this the company claims a market share of 14.42%. Bajaj Auto is selling two variants of Chetak – Urban and Premium, which are seeing huge demand in the market. The company has expanded the dealership of Chetak electric scooter to 164 cities in India.
The fourth company selling the highest number of electric scooters in May was Ather Energy which registered sales of 6,024 units. With this, Ather’s market share has reached 9.45%. Hero MotoCorp remained at fifth position with sales of 2,453 units of its Vida electric scooter.
Overall, 75,500 units of electric two-wheelers were sold in India in May 2024. This includes electric scooters as well as electric motorcycles.
