In Azamgarh, 113 couples got married under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme.
Under the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme run by the Social Welfare Department in Azamgarh district, mass marriage programs were organized in six blocks of the district. Under this, for the marriage of daughters of persons belonging to Scheduled Caste, General Backward Class and Minority category.

Under this mass marriage program, mass marriages of four couples were conducted in Palan block, 23 couples in Lalganj, 11 couples in Tarwan, 35 couples in Rani Ki Sarai, 20 couples in Mohammadpur and 20 couples in Mehnagar. A Muslim couple was also married in this mass marriage. In this way, a total of 113 couples were married.
