There are 2551 Anganwadi centers in the district, 2 lakh 83 thousand children are registered. 2551 Anganwadi centers are operated in the district to provide benefits of government schemes to women and children in urban and rural areas. More than 2 lakh 83 thousand women and children are registered at these centres. Nutritious food is provided to women and children every month through Anganwadi centres.
Out of these Anganwadi centres, only 449 Anganwadi centers have their own buildings. Whereas out of 2119 Anganwadi centres, 29 Anganwadi centers are running in rented buildings. It is running at other places like Panchayat building, council school etc.
Recently, to provide the benefit of building to Anganwadi centres, the department had sent a list of 54 centers to the government, for the construction of which the government had given green signal. Approval of Rs 11.76 lakh was received for the construction of each, after which the construction started. Of these, construction of 40 Anganwadi centers has been completed. While construction of 14 is going on, which will be completed in the first week of December, after which all the Anganwadi centers will be handed over to the department.
With its construction, about 20 thousand registered children and women will benefit. District Program Officer SK Singh said that 54 centers are being constructed.
