Budhana police station of Muzaffarnagar had received information that a miscreant was going to commit vehicle theft in the surrounding area. On the instructions of Budhana police station in-charge Inspector Anand Dev Mishra, the police conducted a checking campaign. On Thursday morning, when the police were checking on the Khadanje road leading from Mandwara intersection in the police station area towards Crown Public School, a suspicious bike rider was seen coming.
The police signaled him to stop. The miscreant turned the bike after seeing the police in front. After this he tried to escape. When the police chased the miscreant, the bike which was running at high speed slipped. The miscreant fired at the police when he slipped from the bike. In retaliatory firing, the miscreant got injured when he was shot in the leg by a police bullet.
Injured criminal taken to hospital The miscreant was identified as Nazar alias Nazru, resident of village Tissa. The police took the injured criminal to the district hospital. Stolen bike and illegal weapons were recovered from his possession. The miscreant told that he steals vehicles by roaming in the market and other public places.
