New Delhi. In the last few years, Bajaj has launched many new bike models in the market. The company’s 125cc Pulsar is performing quite well, while the Pulsar N150, N160, Pulsar 150 and Platina range of bikes are also in good demand. Demand for Chetak EV has also increased in the electric two-wheeler segment and the company has achieved sales of 13,008 units in December 2023, which is the highest sales till date. Now, in view of the increasing competition in the big engine bike segment in the market, the company can soon include the most powerful Pulsar in its portfolio. The company is also preparing for a long range model of a CNG bike and electric scooter Chetak. Simply put, Bajaj is preparing to take on everyone from Royal Enfield in the big engine segment to Ola and TVS in the electric segment.
A few days ago, the company’s Managing Director Rajeev Bajaj, while talking about the company’s vehicles in the future, had hinted at bringing CNG bikes in the 100cc segment with the upcoming new Pulsar range. Along with this, he had also requested Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to reduce the Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) on CNG vehicles to 18 percent.
400cc Pulsar may be launched
Bajaj Auto can launch the most powerful 400cc engine bike in the Pulsar range by March this year. This motorcycle is likely to get the branding of NS400. At present, the company has not shared official information about the launch of this bike, but there is talk that it could be a street bike. This Pulsar is expected to get a new 400cc engine which is currently seen in KTM 390 Duke and Triumph Speed 400. But the company can tune this engine differently in the new Pulsar.
Bajaj’s CNG bike
This is not the first time that Bajaj Auto’s CNG bike is being talked about. Rajiv Bajaj had also hinted about this about 17 years ago i.e. in April 2006. He had said that the company is working on a new product which will be able to run on petrol as well as CNG. Actually, this will be the first bike in India which will work on dual fuel technology. However, now that there is talk of reducing GST on CNG, Bajaj has also revealed about launching CNG bikes. According to some reports, Bajaj may launch its CNG motorcycle in 2024-2025.
New Chetak electric scooter will come soon
Bajaj Auto also plans to expand its only electric scooter Chetak. Rajiv Bajaj says that in the coming time some new electric scooter models will be launched under the Chetak brand. These models can be introduced during the upcoming festive season. The company’s market share in the electric two-wheeler market has almost tripled to 14% at the end of the third quarter, from 5% in the year-ago period. Bajaj Auto had introduced the new Chetak model in December. Currently, the company is selling around 10,000 electric scooters every month, which was around 3,000-4,000 units at the beginning of this financial year.
