Kinetic E-Luna: Kinetic Luna, the popular moped of the 1970-80s, is going to make a comeback in the Indian market once again. Kinetic, the company that makes Luna, has announced its relaunch and has also started booking it. But now Luna will neither have a petrol engine nor pedals. Actually, Luna will come in a completely electric model (E-Luna). Its booking is going to start from January 26 for Rs 500 on the company’s website.
Production of the Kinetic Luna was discontinued in 2000 due to low sales and new emissions regulations. This moped was so popular at one time that the company was selling 2,000 units of it every day. Over its lifetime, the Luna sold 5 million units. At the same time, it had made 95% share in the moped market.
Now Kinetic Green will make e-Luna
Let us tell you that Kinetic has entered the electric vehicle segment and is currently manufacturing many types of electric vehicles including electric scooters. Since Luna is going to come in electric model, it will be produced by Kinetic Electric. E-Luna will be launched in February this year.
What will be the range?
At present, Kinetic has not shared official information about the range and features of e-Luna. However, many reports are claiming that the electric Luna will give a range of 100 kilometers on full charge. Its top speed will be limited to 50 kilometers per hour. Luna is expected to have features like LED headlight, digital display, safety lock.
Luna will be launched in different models for private and commercial customers. According to the information, its price can be less than Rs 70,000. The benefit of FAME-2 subsidy can also be given on this.
