The state’s first Bhakra Wear Project costing Rs 10.5 crore will be started in Rampur. In which the wearer will run without sensors, without electricity and without manpower. For this, top hinged automatic gates will be made.

Funds have been approved from the government level for the modernization of Bhakra Weir in Bilaspur tehsil. Due to the efforts of Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh, top hinged automatic gates will be built at a cost of Rs 10.56 crore under the first project of Uttar Pradesh on Bhakra Wear. Which will automatically become active when the water level in the river increases during floods.
Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh said that 02 canals emerge from Bhakra Weir. Which provides irrigation facility to thousands of hectares of agricultural land. When equipped with the latest modern technology, the canals coming out of this Bhakra Weir will have water availability as per requirement. Due to this, farmers will easily get irrigation facility through canals.
Work will be completed by June 15, 2025
Executive Engineer Canal Division Naveen Kumar said that after the completion of modernization work under this project, Bhakra Weir will be able to run without sensors, without electricity and without manpower only with the help of water pressure. This is the first project in Uttar Pradesh equipped with the latest modern technology. Work on the project will be started from December 15. The work will be completed by 15th June 2025.
