New Delhi. A 29-year-old student from Michigan, USA found it difficult to ask for help from Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot Gemini. The student had asked for help with his homework, but Gemini got angry and gave him a shocking response. Gemini told the student, “You are a burden, a burden on society. die please.” This message was so unexpected and offensive that the student and his family were shocked.
The student, Vidhya Reddy, told CBS News the experience was scary for him. “It felt very simple and scary,” he said. “This incident troubled me for more than a day.”

After this incident, Google issued a statement saying that Gemini has safety controls that prevent offensive or dangerous conversations. He said, “This response violates our policies. “We have taken action to stop this.” This is not the first time Google’s chatbots have come into controversy. Earlier in July, reporters reported that Google AI had given dangerous and inaccurate health suggestions, such as the advice to “eat a small stone every day”.
