Police had a hard time, traffic resumed late in the evening The matter is of Sarthara village near Mohammadpur outpost in Nagar Kotwali area. Here NHAI started work on the highway without informing the police. The jam spread from Indira Canal bridge till beyond Kurauli. The situation became so bad that the police had to struggle to ensure smooth traffic flow. Additional Superintendent of Police North Chiranjeev Nath Sinha and traffic in-charge Ram Ratan Yadav took charge with the team. With the help of local residents, the jam was cleared after several hours of hard work.
Questions raised on NHAI officials Despite the deteriorating traffic system on the highway, the negligence of NHAI patrolling team and officials was clearly visible. No concrete arrangements were made to clear the jam. ASP North Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that NHAI started the work without any prior notice, due to which this problem arose.
