Srinagar Garhwal. In Pauri district headquarters, passengers are facing huge problems for buses. Due to marriage festivities, most of the passenger buses and vehicles are booked, due to which the passengers have to wait for hours. There is silence at the bus station. At the same time, most of the people are going towards their destination by paying higher fare by taxi vehicle.
On Monday, the buses operating from Pauri were booked for the wedding. Due to this reason the buses did not reach Pauri. Passengers have to wait for hours for the bus. Due to buses being busy in weddings, bus service from Pauri to areas like Siku-Palat, Paithani, Chowbatta, Dehalchauri and Tirpalisain, Thalisain, Ufraikhal etc. was halted.
What are the rules?
From Pauri to Garhwal, 52 buses are operated by GMOU and GMBSS on different routes. According to the rules of the union, buses have to be operated in the ratio of 40:60. In which 40 percent of the buses operate on passenger routes, while 60 percent can be booked for wedding ceremonies.

GMOU manager Arun Rawat said that 40 buses operate from Kotdwar on different routes. In which most of the buses operate for the rural areas of the district. He told that buses operate on rural routes like Siku-Palat, Paithani, Chowbatta, Dehalchauri etc. GMBSS Secretary Ramesh Chandra Upreti said that there are 12 buses in the committee, which are being operated in areas like Rishikesh, Tirpalisain, Thalisain and Ufraikhal etc.

Local resident Anup Singh told that his family had to go to Thalisain, but despite waiting for hours at the station, the bus was not available, now they have to stay in Pauri itself. Vinod Kumar told that he had reached Pauri from Delhi with his family. From there he had to go to Paithani but due to non-availability of bus, he has to go home by taking a taxi at a higher fare.
Notice issued to managers
RTO Pauri Dwarika Prasad said that due to the wedding season on Monday, most of the residents were busy in marriage ceremonies. From Tuesday, buses will run on time and passengers will not have to face any kind of problems. It has been decided to issue notices to the managers of both the committees.
