Dehradun. A landlord resident of Premnagar in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge POCSO Pankaj Tomar. Besides, a fine of Rs 1,55,000 has also been imposed on the culprit. Actually, the culprit had raped a 13-year-old girl living in his house. When the victim became pregnant, she had an abortion. After the sentencing, the convict was sent straight from the court to jail.
According to the information received, the matter is of the year 2021. A complaint was lodged at Premnagar police station. The aunt of the minor victim told that her niece suddenly started screaming in the bathroom. When she went there and saw him, she fainted. His body was drenched in blood. She was immediately taken to the hospital, where it was found out that she had had an abortion. The treatment of the girl admitted in the hospital continued for several days. When he regained consciousness, he told everything to his family. The girl’s father is disabled, who works in a hotel.
Kept on raping by intimidation
The girl’s mother was pregnant in the year 2021 and used to make her daughter help in household chores. One day when she went to the terrace to dry clothes, the landlord Pankaj Bisht first gave chocolate to the girl and then raped her. By scaring the victim, he continued doing wrong things with her. The victim told that he used to threaten to kill her parents. The victim continued to tolerate his exploitation in fear. During this time the girl became pregnant. When she went to her aunt’s house, she had an abortion. On receiving the complaint, Premnagar police registered a case against the accused and started investigation. After investigation, the police filed the charge sheet in the court.
The culprit was sentenced to 20 years
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge POCSO Pankaj Tomar found Pankaj Bisht guilty and sentenced him to 20 years in jail. Also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand. Out of this amount, instructions were given to give Rs 1.5 lakh to the victim as compensation. If the fine is not paid, the culprit will face additional imprisonment of 6 months.
