Locality frightened by monkey terror Dinesh, Sunil and Mahesh, residents of the locality, said that the monkey had bitten and injured many people since last week. Children became afraid of leaving the house. People had started shying away from even going on the rooftops and balconies of their homes. Dinesh said, “There was always a fear that the monkey might attack. Children were also asked to stay at home.”
Municipality’s quick action After the complaint of the residents of the locality, Municipality Chairman Kaumudi Pandey and his representative Sandeep Pandey contacted the Forest Department. However, the forest department expressed its inability to catch the monkey. After this the municipality itself decided to solve this problem. A cage was kept on the roof of locality councilor Akhilesh Nishad.
Sandeep Pandey said, “It was not easy to catch the monkey, but with the right strategy and efforts we achieved success.” As soon as the monkey got trapped in the cage on Tuesday, a wave of relief ran in the locality.
happy atmosphere in the neighborhood After the monkey was caught, people of the locality gathered at the spot in large numbers. Relief and happiness were clearly visible on the faces of everyone, from children to the elderly. Local resident Sunita Devi said, “Now we can live in peace. The Forest Department is in the process of releasing it at a safe place.
