New Delhi. WhatsApp is a popular instant messaging app. Be it family or office work, it has become a means of contact everywhere. To improve the experience of users, WhatsApp keeps adding new features to its platform. Now the company is reportedly testing a new feature that will help users deal with the increasing spammy business messages on the platform. This new feature will allow users to give feedback as to what type of messages they would like to receive.
Currently, users can either receive all messages from a business or block them completely. This means that users are deprived of all messages, whether important order updates or marketing messages.
Users will get these options
According to a report by TechCrunch, soon WhatsApp users will get options like “interested/not interested” and “stop/resume”, which were earlier available only in the backend. These categories include marketing (offers, new products), utility (order updates, account balance), authentication (one-time password) and service (customer enquiries). According to the report, these categories will allow users to stop messages. And they will continue to receive the messages they want.
After the introduction of this feature, you will have the convenience if you want to receive notifications about your order, but do not want messages related to offers. Meta has reportedly said that it will start testing these options/interactions on a global level.
