The Japan leg of the 2024 MAMA Awards commenced on Friday, November 22 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka.

The Japan leg of the 2024 MAMA Awards has kickstarted, with the event’s Day 2 witnessing a star-studded gathering at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka. From an exciting opening by TXT’s Yeonjun to an enchanting performance from the musical duo of BLACKPINK’s Rose and Bruno Mars, the show indeed kicked off on a high note amid the crowd-deafening cheers on Friday, November 22. It is worth mentioning that the highly anticipated MAMA Awards 2024 commenced on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, marking the first time in its 25-year history that the event was held in the United States. Organised by CJ ENM, the ceremony aims to celebrate the global impact and contribution of the K-pop industry.
While the first day of the MAMA Awards witnessed a celebrated mix of rising stars and artists, it was shortly followed by the second day in Japan, dishing out some memorable moments.
MAMA Awards 2024: Day 2 Top Performances
To begin with, the Japan chapter saw opening performances from the likes of TXT’s Yeonjun, aespa’s Karina, IVE’s Rei, and ZEROBASEONE’s Hanbin among others coming together to deliver their expression for this year’s conceptBIG BLUR: What is Real?
Some other epic performances included J.Y. Park’s performance with Anderson. Paak followed by the much-anticipated collaboration between Bruno Mars and Blackpink’s Rose on their hit track APT.
ENHYPEN’s Jay’s guitar performance also turned out to be another event highlight.
With a star-studded lineup, a few other performances came from ENHYPEN on XO(Only If You Say Yes) + Daydream + Brought The Heat Back, TXT on Saviour + Deja Vu + Over the Moon, IVE on Guardians of the Sun (Intro) + Accendio + HEYA, ME_I on &Me + Click, TREASURE on TREASURE.exe (Intro) + KING KONG + RUN, BOYNEXTDOOR on Nice Guy + Earth, Wind & Fire, PLAVE on WAY 4 LUV, LeeYoung-ji on Cross the Line + Small Girl, and izna on IWALY/DRIP / FAKE IT + izna + Timebomb.
It is worth mentioning that the second day of the gala also saw the recognition of several K-pop artists and groups for their diverse work and contributions through music. The third and final day of the 2024 MAMA Awards will take place on Saturday, November 23.
