Two major roads of Ambedkar Nagar district will soon be widened. This will cost around Rs 42 crore. With its construction, the journey of the population of two lakh people passing through these routes will become easier and they will also get relief from the problems caused by the traffic jams every day.

Recently, the government had sought proposals from the district for widening and repairing the tehsil headquarters and the roads connecting one district to another. Under this, the Public Works Department sent a proposal to increase the width of Tanda-Maya road. At present the width of this road is seven meters. This route will be widened by ten meters for 19 kilometers.
Rs 38 crore 90 lakh will be spent on widening this road. Similarly, under Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya scheme, work of widening of the road leading to Tehsil office from Baskhari road in Akbarpur city will also be done. At present the width of this road is five and a half meters, which will be increased to seven meters. This will cost around Rs 4.42 crore.
The department has prepared an estimate of the amount to be spent on the widening of both the roads and sent it to the government. As soon as the approval is received from the government level, the tender process related to the construction work will be started soon.
