The songs of the superhit film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, released in 1995, were choreographed by Saroj Khan. However, there was a time when the film’s director Aditya Chopra did not want him to be a part of the film. He had told his father in front of Saroj Khan that he did not want to keep him in the film.
Some time ago, a video related to the making of the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was shared on the YouTube channel of Yash Raj Films. In it, all the actors associated with the film were seen talking about filmmaking. During this, Saroj Khan said, Aditya was about to remove me from the film. One day I came late to the set and he was about to take the first shot of a song. In which Kajol was wearing a black gown and Shahrukh was wearing a black suit. At that time he was shouting and telling his father (Yash Chopra) that I will remove Saroj ji from the film. Somehow I reached there in time before they removed me from the film.
Saroj Khan had apologized after the rift
Saroj Khan was the choreographer in the film, but Aditya Chopra later removed her from the film due to displeasure on the set. She was replaced by Farah Khan, who choreographed a song from the film, Ruk Jaa O Dil Deewani. After the success of the film, Saroj Khan apologized to Aditya Chopra for underestimating her, but the two never worked together again.
Shahrukh Khan had refused to do the film
It is said that Aditya Chopra wanted to cast Hollywood actor Tom Cruise in this film, however Yash Chopra refused to do so. After this Aditya Chopra approached Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh had rejected the offer of the film saying that he was playing the role of a villain and would not do a romantic role.
After Shahrukh’s refusal, Aditya Chopra offered the film to Saif Ali Khan, but he also rejected the film. Similarly, Aamir also rejected the film. Finally, Aditya Chopra once again insisted on Shahrukh and this time he agreed. In this way, Shahrukh got the role of Raj and Kajol got the role of Simran in the film. Let us tell you that from 1995 till today this film is being shown in Maratha Mandir Theater in Mumbai.
