SURAT: A 30-year-old Haryana resident, who allegedly raped and killed a 19-year-old girl near Udvada town in Gujarat’s Valsad district on Nov 14, was nabbed by Gujarat police on Sunday. Interrogation revealed he was a serial killer wanted in at least four murders, and other undetected ones, on trains in Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
Police said the accused — Rahul alias Bholu Karmvir Ishwar Jat — arrived in Vapi on Nov 14 and took a local train to Udvada to collect his pending salary from a hotel where he had previously worked.While walking toward the hotel on Udvada-Pardi Road, he noticed the girl walking near the railway tracks. The victim was returning to her home and speaking on phone with her friend. Rahul followed her, attacked her from behind, and dragged her to a nearby mango orchard where he raped her and strangulated her to death.
