When Mahandevi (28), wife of Kaushal Kishore, a resident of Suhaila village of Sadarpur police station area, started labor pain late on Saturday night, Kaushal Kishore sought help of ambulance from dial 108 emergency service, but when it was cited that the ambulance of PHC Khurwal was broken. So Kaushal Kishore took his wife on the bike and left for the health center.
It is said that due to increased labor pain midway, Mahandevi had to give birth to the child midway in the darkness of the night. Lucknow resident Dinesh Mishra, who was passing by, took the pregnant woman and her husband to the primary health center Khurwal by car.

When Kaushal Kishore refused to bring gloves, the staff nurse started treating the patient by wearing polythene in her hands, crying about not having gloves.
