New Delhi: A woman has accused a contestant of ‘Dance India Dance’ of rape. Rau police station of Indore in Madhya Pradesh has registered a case of violation of Hindu Marriage Act and rape after the complaint of a girl. The accused is said to be a student of famous dance choreographer Terence Lewis.
High Court lawyer Krishna Kumar Kunhare said, ‘The accused got acquainted with the girl in the year 2018, he had described himself as a student of famous Bollywood dance choreographer Terence Lewis and a contestant of ‘Dance India Dance’. A love relationship developed between the two. The accused youth raped the girl on the pretext of marriage. Both of them also have a child. When the girl put pressure on the accused for marriage several times, he took her to the court and got the court marriage done. However, the young man kept pretending to get married as per Hindu customs.
Police investigating the case
The lawyer told that on the orders of the court, Police Commissioner Santosh Singh had given instructions to register a case in Rau police station, on which Rau police has registered a case of rape and violation of Hindu Marriage Act. DCP Vinod Kumar Meena said that Indore’s Rau police station has registered a case against the youth on the complaint of the girl. The police have formed a team and are investigating the matter.
