Triple Talaq Case: Wife given triple talaq due to second affair in Haldwani, consumed intoxicating pills after telling her it was poison

Haldwani. A case of husband giving triple talaq to his wife after 16 years of marriage has come to light in Haldwani of Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The husband is accused of divorcing his wife due to his illicit relations. The victim woman alleges that her husband has divorced her in front of the family because of an affair with another woman. The police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the victim. The victim has made many other serious allegations against her husband. The police is investigating the matter.

The matter is of Banbhulpura police station area of ​​Haldwani. The name of the accused is Sami Alam. The victim’s brother Sameer gave a complaint to the police and said that about 16 years ago his sister was married to Sami Alam, a resident of Banbhulpura. Both have two daughters. The family alleges that Sami had eloped with a girl after two years of marriage. When the police caught him, he apologized. However, he did not desist from his actions. Sami Alam, claiming himself to be a journalist, used to threaten his sister and beat her up.

Sami Alam married for the second time
Sameer said that on November 6 also, Sameer beat his sister. When he came to know about it, he went to his sister’s house the next day and brought her to his home. On November 8, Sami came to his house and vandalized his house. Threatened the family that if his wife did not return home, he would divorce her. Fearing public condemnation, she returned to her in-laws’ house. After reaching her in-laws house, her sister came to know that Sami had remarried. On November 9, when sister asked Sami about this, he said it was poison and swallowed four pills.

Consumed intoxicating pills as poison
The family members hurriedly took him to Soban Singh Jeena Base Hospital, from where he was referred to Sushila Tiwari Hospital. There they came to know that he had consumed intoxicating pills and not poison. On November 10, when Sami reached home from the hospital, he gave triple talaq to his wife and threw her out of the house. Banbhulpura police station in-charge Neeraj Neeraj Bhakuni said that based on the complaint of the victim’s brother Sameer, a case has been registered against Sami Alam, his mother, sister and brother under the Assault and Triple Talaq Act. The case is being investigated.
