In such a situation, if he dies then the person becomes completely broken. Similar is the story of Poonam Singh of Dehradun, who brought a dog from the mountains during the Kedarnath disaster. He raised him like his own child but he died due to high fever. Pooja was very sad due to this and she also left her job. Poonam, who lived alone at home, went into depression, after which she chose the path of self-employment to keep herself busy.

How did you get the dog?
Poonam Singh, a resident of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, said that she is originally from Jharkhand and had shifted to Dehradun a few years ago. She used to work for which she had to travel. During the Kedarnath disaster, she had brought a 3-month-old dog from the mountain, whom she named Monk because he was very calm. She was the one who fed him and made him sleep near her. Overall, he raised him like his own child. She took him to all the Buddha temples from India to Nepal.

He traveled about 4500 kilometers with the monk. After traveling last year, he returned in the month of October but in the month of November he suddenly developed fever and died after being given an injection. After being saddened by his death, Poonam became very broken, she even left her job. She went into depression so she thought of doing something that would divert her attention.

She formed a group and started working with women. He started a firm named Meytri. Through this, they produce mountain products in collaboration with local women. These include many types of products like Jhangora, Red Rice, Mandwa and Ayurvedic Tea etc.

Monk’s death anniversary on 28th November
Poonam told that Monk had left her on 28 November 2023, after which she got his grave built in her own garden. Monk’s death anniversary occurred on 28 November. She always remembers him. When Monk was not there on his birthday, he cut his birthday cake with his picture. Poonam is single and did not marry. She thought that she would always keep him with her like her son, but that did not happen.
