Ghazipur. District Magistrate Aryaka Akhauri gave strict instructions in the meeting of District Tree Plantation, District Ganga and District Environment Committee today. In the meeting, he asked the departments to provide names and photographs of 5 good sites regarding the tree plantation sites done in 2024-25.

Instructions given for liquid waste management in river Ganga
The District Magistrate ordered to build filter chambers under Liquid Waste Management in all the drains flowing into the Ganga River. Along with this, instructions were also given to take strict action to stop the use of single use plastic.
Action on Upvan Scheme
The EO of the municipality was directed to identify the land under the Upvan scheme and submit the report by Monday. Apart from this, the District Magistrate directed the District Panchayat Raj Officer to constitute “Village Wetland Committee” in the Gram Panchayats.
Women Empowerment and Clean Ganga Campaign
The District Magistrate also informed that the team of All Women Ganga River Rafting Expedition, which is on a 53-day journey from Gangotri (Uttarakhand) to Ganga Sagar (West Bengal), aims at women empowerment and clean and clear Ganga campaign. This team will reach Ghazipur soon. Chief Development Officer Santosh Kumar Vaishya, District School Inspector, DFO and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
