Allahabad High Court stayed the suspension order of SDO of Electricity Urban Distribution Subdivision Ganganagar Meerut. Besides, instructions have been given to reinstate the petitioner on duty and pay him regular salary. Justice JJ Munir gave this order on the petition of Dinesh Kumar Maurya.

It is alleged that due to the petitioner’s absence from the sub-station, there was a delay in replacing the burnt transformer. As a result, power supply was disrupted in the heat of June. The petitioner was suspended by the order of the Managing Director of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Victoria Park, Meerut. This has been challenged in the High Court.
The petitioner said in the petition that after the burning of the transformer, the power supply was ensured through a bus coupler. Power supply was not affected. The transformer was installed as soon as it became available from the private firm. It is not his fault.
