Police on every nook and corner in Uttarkashi, Section 163 imposed near mosque, Mahapanchayat of Hindu organizations today

Uttarkashi: A Mahapanchayat of Hindu organization is going to be held in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand this afternoon regarding the mosque dispute. Police is on alert mode regarding this. Security personnel have been deployed in large numbers. From Saturday morning, Section 163 (earlier Section 144) has been implemented within 50 meters of the Masjid Mohalla till further orders. Many big leaders of Hindu organizations including well-known BJP MLA from Hyderabad T Raja Singh will participate in the Mahapanchayat. All preparations for the program have been completed.

Uttarkashi Police is on alert regarding the Mahapanchayat. Last evening the police had taken out a flag march. Force has been increased in the district headquarters and Ramlila Maidan. Forces and officers from other districts have also arrived. This Mahapanchayat is being organized regarding the controversy over the 50 year old mosque in Uttarkashi district. A few months ago the Hindu organization had declared the mosque illegal. After which a public anger rally was taken out. As tensions rose, the police arrested 200 people, including 8 named.

Now once again a Mahapanchayat of Hindu organizations is being organized regarding the same mosque. The administration has given conditional permission to the Mahapanchayat proposed on December 1. With this, the administration imposed Section 163 within 50 meters of the Masjid Mohalla to maintain peace and law and order. Deputy Collector Bhatwadi Mukesh Chand Ramola informed about permission to organize the Mahapanchayat proposed by Devbhoomi Vichar Manch. Told that permission has been given to Mahapanchayat with about 15-16 conditions. These include not giving hate speech, not taking out rallies, not disrupting traffic, not inciting religious sentiments, maintaining peace and order and other conditions.

Many big faces of Hindu organizations including Hindu leader T Raja will also participate in the Mahapanchayat. BJP MLA T Raja Singh from Goshamahal seat of Hyderabad will also be there. Many big Hindu leaders like Swami Darshan Bharti, Rakesh Uttarakhandi, Anuj Walia, Keshavgiri Maharaj are going to participate. This Mahapanchayat will be held from around 12.30 pm.
