Suggestions given by safety fire audit
– Separate exits and stairs should be made in all buildings for safe exit.
Considering the number of people and patients present in the medical college, a chief fire officer, two fire officers and shift-wise trained staff should be deployed 24 hours to prevent fire.
– In case of emergency, the fire protection system should be operated on time.
– Weterizer should be made useful in the medical college. Coupling, inlet branch, hose box, hose pipe at the hydrant point should also be kept in good repair.
– All junior doctors and students should be given seven-day training on fire prevention measures once a year.
– Special measures should be taken to remove smoke from inside buildings.
– Provision for automatic water spray system should be made for supply of oxygen, LPG and others in the hospital building. The gas pipeline should be audited by a recognized institution.
District hospital and prison were also audited
The district hospital, women’s hospital and prison were also audited by the fire department. Nozzles were not installed in the hydrants at the main gate of the hospital building of the district hospital, near the gallery, pathology lab and OPD gallery.
Similarly, there was no emergency gate inside the kitchen inside the prison. Pointed out the need to move the gas cut point out of the premises. It is necessary to make provision for a fire alarm system inside the premises.
