WhatsApp keeps ending support for older devices and operating systems so that the platform can be developed with new features, security updates and advanced architecture. Now WhatsApp is going to stop supporting some iPhones next year.
In the latest update, WhatsApp has started sending notifications to users about stopping support for older iOS versions. This means that iPhone users who are using old operating systems will not be able to use WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is ending support for these iOS versions
According to the notification, WhatsApp will stop support for versions before iOS 15. This means that WhatsApp will not work on iPhones running iOS 15 or older. This change will be effective from May 5, 2025.
Changes from 5th May
Currently WhatsApp supports iOS 12 or newer versions. But from May 5, the platform will support only iPhones running iOS 15.1 or newer.
what can you do
There are some things you can try. First of all, upgrade your iPhone to the latest iOS version available. For example, if your device supports iOS 15.1 and you’re still using iOS 15 or older, you can update it and continue using WhatsApp after May 5, 2025 .
