Neha Joshi is making Diwali special by being eco-conscious by ordering hand-painted lamps from local artisans. According to the IANS report, he said, ‘Diwali always holds a special place in my heart. We start preparations well in advance at home, adopting Maharashtrian traditions. A favorite ritual is the early morning Abhyanga Snan (oil bath), which is performed to purify the body before the festivities. We also light lamps around the house to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, which brings warmth and light.
Don’t want to compromise with nature
The actress is very conscious about the environment. This Diwali, he has opted for traditional earthen lamps instead of fireworks. He said, ‘This year I have ordered hand-painted lamps from local artists and supported them while being conscious of the environment. For me, Diwali reflects the light within us and while spreading happiness, nature should not be compromised.
Special childhood memories are associated with Diwali.
The actress further said, ‘The highlight of the festival is its delicious Maharashtrian dishes. I love making traditional dishes like Puran Poli, Shankarpali and Chivda. These home-made dishes bring back childhood memories, making this celebration even more special. Sharing these with family and friends gives me great joy.
