Srinagar Garhwal. The five-bed ICU ward built at a cost of about Rs 40 lakh in the Joint Sub-District Hospital located in Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand has been stalled for the last three years. Due to its closure, patients are having to rush to big cities. Questions are continuously being raised on the health systems in Srinagar. While Jan Aushadhi Centers for affordable generic medicines have been opened for the patients, the facility of Jan Aushadhi Center is not yet available in the sub-district hospital, due to which the patients have to buy medicines from outside at expensive prices, which is difficult for their treatment. Increases the burden.
People of Srinagar Garhwal say that if ICU and Jan Aushadhi Kendra facilities were available in the sub-district hospital, the patients would not have had to go to big cities.
