RAIPUR: Fuming after being scolded and told to focus on studies, a Class XI student stabbed two teachers at a private school in Chhattisgarh‘s Dhamtari on Friday.
The suspect is on the run. Police teams are out looking for him. One of the teachers, Junaid Ahmed, 35, was stabbed multiple times in the head, neck and back and is in a critical condition. According to police, the student had taken a mid-session transfer from another school for unknown reasons, and wasn’t doing well in studies. Teachers kept urging him to work harder and avoid distractions but to no avail.
The 17-year-old student was upset with Ahmed, who had told him not to bring a mobile phone to school, warning that he’d be punished. On Thursday, the boy came to school with a knife hidden in his bag. After classes were over, he took out the knife and stabbed Ahmed.
Another teacher, Kulpreet Singh, jumped in to save Ahmed but the boy turned and stabbed him as well, say police. Colleagues took the injured duo to hospital. Singh was stabbed once in the hand and was discharged after primary treatment but Ahmed is in a critical condition. Police are looking for the suspect.
