The woman told that at the time of the incident her husband had gone to Holika Dahan, and she was sleeping at home. At around 11-12 in the night, Vijay Gupta tried to rape her. When the woman raised an alarm, the neighbors gathered and caught hold of Vijay. Meanwhile, Vijay’s two brothers Sukhdev and Sukhlal reached there and rescued Vijay. While leaving, the woman’s husband was threatened with death.
On the complaint of the woman, the police immediately registered an FIR and started investigating the case. On the basis of the investigation done by the jurisdictional officer, the charge sheet was filed in the court. On Saturday, the court of special SC/ST Act judge Abid Shamim found all three accused guilty.
Vijay Gupta has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20 thousand. Sukhdev and Sukhlal have been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment each and a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
