Mainly in Hindu religion, it is said to be best to study Ramayana and Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta written by Maharishi Valmiki. Bhagwat Geeta is prominent among Hindu religious texts. In which there are total 700 verses and 18 chapters. Different secrets of life are obtained from every chapter of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta. Haridwar-based scholar astrologer Pandit Shridhar Shastri tells Local 18 that Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta is the main religious text of Hindu religion. The things said by Lord Krishna are written in Geeta. He tells that Lord Shri Krishna had preached Geeta to Arjun before the war between Pandavas and Kauravas in the battlefield of Kurukshetra in Dwapara Yuga. From which Arjun got knowledge about worldly, material and all the secrets of life. It was only after listening to the sermon from Lord Krishna that Arjun attained supreme knowledge and all the doubts in his mind were dispelled. In Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, Bhakti Yoga, Moksha Yoga, War, Vibhuti Yoga, Gyan Vigyan, Raj Vidya Rahasya Yoga, Brahma Yoga, Attainment of God, Supreme Knowledge, Purushottam Yoga etc. have been explained in detail.

Pandit Shridhar Shastri explains that by reciting Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, the main religious text of Hindu religion, while all the mysteries of life are unveiled, the person attains the supreme abode and ultimate knowledge. In Dwapar Yuga, Lord Krishna preached Geeta to Arjun on the Ekadashi date of Margashirsha Shukla Paksha. Geeta Jayanti will be celebrated on 11 December in the year 2024. If the entire Geeta is recited on this day by purifying the body and mind, then one gets the special blessings of Lord Krishna and all the problems and sorrows going on in life come to an end. Reciting Geeta is said to be the best in Hindu religion.
