On Sunday, under the leadership of Gopal Krishna Gautam and Surendra Singh, convenors of Electricity Employees Joint Struggle Committee, officials and employees of all the organizations of the department gathered at the Electricity Distribution Board office located in Hydel Colony.
During this time, everyone held a meeting to prepare for the movement against the government’s privatization of the energy corporation. Co-coordinator Surendra Singh said that the government’s decision to privatize Purvanchal and Dakshinanchal Electricity Distribution Corporation is an anti-consumer, employee and officer decision.
He said that the government’s earlier experiment of privatization in Greater Noida has proved to be a complete failure. The government should review it. The co-coordinator said that the agreement for privatization of Agra and Kesco was signed simultaneously. Officials of the Sangharsh Committee raised their voice in one voice and warned that even privatization would not be accepted at any cost.
