Srinagar Garhwal: In India, potato is consumed throughout the year and it is in demand in the market throughout the year. Potato is cultivated on a large scale in both the plains and hilly areas of Uttarakhand. In such a situation, farmers need to take special care of the potato crop. When the potato crop becomes larger, the incidence of early blight disease increases. Due to this, farmers’ potato crops get ruined. Due to this disease, spots appear on potato leaves and the potato plant gets scorched. Due to which the potato crop may get spoiled.
How is identification done?
Agriculture expert Ishwar Singh of Garhwal University told Local 18 that blight disease is first identified by the leaves of the plant. If there are spots on the leaves of the plant or the plant appears scorched, then understand that blight disease has arrived in the potato crop. Remedy it in time otherwise huge loss may occur.
Spray this medicine
Ishwar Singh further said that scorching disease is an infectious disease. It spreads from one plant to another, hence it is important to treat it on time. To prevent blight, 2 grams of Mangozep powder should be mixed in 1 liter of water and sprayed at an interval of 15 days. The medicine has to be sprayed properly in all parts of the plant, so that the entire plant can be protected from blight.
Keep these things in mind while spraying medicine
Farmers have to wear masks while spraying Mangozep. Because the harmful chemicals present in it reach the lungs through the nose and mouth. Due to which a person can become seriously ill. Spray the medicine only with caution.
organic method
In organic methods, 2 mg of Neem oil can be mixed with 1 liter of water and sprayed at an interval of one week. With this, farmers can protect their potato crops from blight. You can use either of the two methods.
