New Delhi. Global tech giant Google is making big preparations for the popular navigation app Google Maps. Google has announced to provide more features to Indian developers from its Maps platform. Now Indian developers will be able to use Routes, Places and Environment Application Programming Interface (API) and Software Development Kit (SDK) etc. for free. This service will be available from March 1, 2025.
From March 1, 2025, developers will get free access to Maps, Routes, Location and Environment products up to a monthly limit. This will allow them to easily integrate different products like proximity and dynamic street view without any upfront cost.
Use of free services worth up to $6,800
“In India, this means that instead of the $200 monthly credit we provide today, developers will soon be able to get up to $6,800 worth of free services every month,” said Tina Weyand, senior director of product management, Google Maps Platform. Will be able to use it.”
Coverage of more than 70 lakh kilometers of roads
Google Maps platform is used in India for everything from delivery to making travel apps. “Our coverage in India spans more than 7 million kilometers of roads, 300 million buildings and 35 million businesses and locations,” Weyand said.
Introduction of specific pricing in India
On behalf of the tech giant, it was said that Google Maps platform has recently started specific pricing in India. This includes up to 70 percent lower pricing on most APIs and a collaboration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), which provides developers with up to 90 percent discounts on select Google Maps Platform APIs.
