Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin are taking us on an out-of-this-world adventure with Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi romantic comedy When The Stars Gossip. The series promises to mix space-age thrills with heartfelt moments and a dash of humour, creating an exciting start to 2025. Netflix released the 54-second teaser for the series on Tuesday across its social media channels. It kicks off with a chilling premise: Earth faces an apocalyptic future due to an impending disaster, forcing humanity to place its hopes on a daring space mission described as “carrying humanity’s fate.”
The highly anticipated K-drama stars Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin in lead roles, blending action, comedy and raw emotion against the backdrop of the cosmos. The teaser immediately pulls viewers into the story, starting with Earth in chaos after a catastrophic meteorite collision. With extinction looming, a spaceship is sent on a mission to save the planet. However, life in space is far from a smooth ride. The astronauts face daunting challenges, from technical malfunctions to emotional confrontations, making their mission to rescue Earth even more unpredictable.
A standout moment in the teaser is a lighthearted exchange between the two leads that perfectly shows the series’ tone. When Min-ho’s character asks, “Can we save Earth if we go to space?” Hyo-jin cheekily replies, “It’ll be tough!” He counters with, “Then what do we do if we go to space?” Her playful response, “Gossip with the stars,” hints at the witty banter and unique charm the show aims to bring.
