Haldwani. A case of love jihad has come to light from Haldwani city of Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The matter is of Kathgodam police station area. Here a minor student and the girl studying with him were caught by the villagers in an objectionable condition. The matter gained momentum when the student turned out to be from a particular community. His Aadhar card was checked. The villagers informed the police. After which a team immediately reached the spot. At the same time, Hindu organizations also got wind of this matter. Hindu leaders surrounded Kathgodam police station for about three hours and created a ruckus. On the complaint of the girl’s father, a case has been registered against the youth under various sections including rape and POCSO. After which the Hindu leaders calmed down. The police is investigating the matter.
According to the information received, the male and female students of a reputed college of Haldwani had gone towards Lamjala village of Ranibagh area for an outing. During this, the villagers caught both of them doing obscene acts in an open space. As soon as they came to know that the boy belonged to a particular community, they became more enraged. After which the villagers created ruckus for a long time. Kathgodam police reached the information and brought the boy and girl to the police station, where their families were called. During this time, people associated with some Hindu organizations also reached the spot and created a ruckus. They were adamant on demanding action against the student of a particular community. After an uproar that lasted for three hours, the police registered a case under the rape section and POCSO Act on the complaint of the girl’s father.
Youth is minor as per Aadhaar card
Haldwani SP City Prakash Chandra said that a case has been registered against the accused youth under the rape section and POCSO Act. According to his Aadhar card he is a minor. There are 9 days less to complete the age of 18 years. His other documents are being examined. Medical examination of the girl will reveal whether rape took place or not. The girl’s medical examination was done on Tuesday. The report will be available soon. After which further action will be taken.
