Shah Rukh Khan recently dined at Chef Vikas Khanna’s Bungalow restaurant in New York. The chef uploaded a photo with the star and his staff, describing how he was holding back emotions during his interaction with him. In his latest Instagram post, he claimed that his life revolves around three people, one of which is the superstar. Vikas recalled how the actor took his hand and spoke about the importance of his restaurant in honouring their ancestry and India.
Chef Vikas Khanna posted an unseen photo of Shah Rukh Khan on Instagram, showing the superstar dressed stylishly in a black t-shirt and spectacles. Expressing his gratitude to the actor, the chef shared that he has three important people in his life including his mother, celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. He added, “When SRK visited Bungalow & asked me to sit with him. As we spoke about me going to the cinema every day to watch DDLJ with my sister and every movie of his. He became my hero for who he is. His voice. His patience. His confidence. His compassion. His friendship. To hold back my tears I looked up at the glass ceiling & saw the clear crescent of moon watching over me. People who lose the ones they loved the most, always find signs of them watching over us. Today is dedicated to you, Sir. You holding my hand and saying, “Bungalow represents us. Our parents. Our ancestors. Our India”. This is everything to a scared-paranoid-failed child from Amritsar.”
Previously, during Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, Vikas Khanna made a heartfelt post about the superstar on X. When the star responded, the chef couldn’t contain his joy and instantly posted a screenshot to Instagram and appreciated his humble nature. Vikas Khanna wrote, “I’ve hosted 4 American Presidents & almost every major World leader, but cooking for my Maa & YOU at Bungalow have been the biggest honour of my career & life. You are our family, our sibling, our pride, our childhood, our love story, our greatest joy & our best representation.”
Chef Vikas Khanna has added another feather to his cap by receiving the Michelin 2024 Bib Gourmand Award for his New York restaurant, Bungalow. The restaurant is known for its unique approach to traditional Indian meals, presented with contemporary flavours.
