This is what Abhishek Yadav, captain of the 68th Volleyball National Under-14 Boys Team, has to say; Abhishek is a resident of Ghazipur and is the son of a farmer. He further said- We have won two mikes. We will win the upcoming matches and we will capture the gold.
The UP boys team is aiming to defend its title in the National Sub Junior Volleyball Competition which started from December 10 in Varanasi. Varanasi, the winner of the 67th competition, had last time defeated Haryana in the final and Manipur in the semi-final. In such a situation, Dainik Bhaskar talked to the players and coaches in the practice session and got to know the strategy of the UP team.
Command to farmer’s son Abhishek Abhishek Yadav is a resident of Ghazipur. Presently he is in Gorakhpur Sports College. Abhishek said- We have made very thorough preparations. Last time we won a gold medal. I am the only one in this team who had also played the tournament last time which was held in Orissa. We have had a five-day practice session before the start of the tournament in which combination practice has been conducted by our coach sir.
Many players are game changers Abhishek told- Shivam, Shakir, Anas and Shekhar are plus points in our team. All four are very good players. At their rate, no team can dominate us because they know how to create pressure from time to time. Shakir and Shivam supported me in the Assam match due to which we won the match. The entire team united and won both the matches.
Haryana and Manipur Tough Abhishek told- Last time when I went to play the tournament, it was two-three toughest. One is Manipur and the other is Haryana. We defeated Manipur in the semi-finals and Haryana in the finals but both the teams gave a tough fight.
Big responsibility for farmer’s son Shakir Shakir is a resident of Bareilly. Shakir is also a part of this team and is playing National for the first time. Gorakhpur Sports Hostel player Shakir’s father is a farmer. His talent was recognized by his school and today he is in a sports hostel. Shakir plays the role of attacker. Shakir said- All the players in the team are game changers. Anyone can turn the match at any time. We have won two matches. Will win gold this time also.
You will get benefit from combination practice Other players of the team, Prabhakar, Shivam and Anas said that we have practiced for the first five days of the tournament. The coach has made us do combination practice which is most important. In such a situation, we can say that our preparation is good and we have got results in the first two matches. Assam made some tough moves but we won.

Mukesh Singh is the coach of Uttar Pradesh team. He told- The captain of our team has played last time. He is the best player in our team. Apart from this, all the players in the team can become game changers. Not that any one is a game changer. Anyone can become a game changer during a game. He said that our team is playing well, hence our team will win the gold medal.
Haryana team is very good Team coach Mukesh also said – Haryana team will also be tough in this tournament. Even four years ago, that team was very tough and it is so even today because last time also it had played the final with UP.
