Foot overbridges will be built on Kanpur-Aligarh Highway and other national highways passing through Kanpur. To prevent accidents while crossing the National Highway in populated areas, NHAI has started construction of ramps and pedestrian bridges for switching from one lane to the other.

9 FOBs will be built in 82 km worth Rs. 36 crores NHAI Kanpur Project Director Amal Aman Rohilla said that in the first phase these will be built on the Kanpur-Aligarh Highway, for which Rs 36 crore has been released.
Nine FOBs will be built over a distance of 82 km from Kanpur to Kannauj. Of these, two will be in Kannauj and seven in Kanpur. The work of making these has also been started.

Cost of one FOB 4 crores The cost of building one foot over bridge will be around Rs 4 crore, two FOBs have been approved. The tender process for making these has also been started. The FOB will have both stairs and ramps.
Due to the ramp, one can easily move there even with a wheel chair. The work of making two FOBs on Kannauj bypass to reach the health care center of VS College, Manimau has started.
