Even though pictures of poor night shelters are often seen in other parts of the state, people are getting high tech facilities in the night shelters run by Nainital Municipality.
These days, it is becoming extremely cold in the morning and evening in Nainital. The temperature here is going to minus in the morning and evening. A few days ago, the first snowfall of the season occurred in Nainital. Due to which cold winds are also blowing in Nainital. In such a situation, Nainital Municipality has arranged a hi-tech night shelter for the poor people in the Raza Club area of the city. Where clean bedding, hot water, and blower facilities are available to protect from cold.
Heater and geyser also in night shelter
Deepak Goswami, EO of Nainital Municipality, during a special conversation with Local 18, said that the municipality is running a night shelter in Raza Club, where the arrangement of 8 beds is available, the municipality is planning to increase the number of beds in the night shelter. Being considered by, also the arrangement of 2 heaters and geysers is also available here. Every day one or two people are coming here to stay.
There is provision for women also
Mohan Tamta, who looks after the night shelter run by the municipality, said that proper arrangements have been made by the municipality for the destitute and poor people to stay in the night shelter. There is a separate arrangement for women to stay here. Every day people are coming here to stay. Although the municipality has provided many facilities to the people here, there is only one toilet for men and women. He has demanded to build a separate toilet for women.
