In Ghaziabad, a 250 KVA power transformer was stolen from Krishna Kunj in Modinagar city. Due to theft of transformer, power supply to three colonies was disrupted.

The people of the colonies demonstrated and created a ruckus demanding restoration of electricity supply. A 250 KVA power transformer is installed in Krishnakunj Colony of the city.
Electricity is supplied to Krishnakunj, Nawab Vihar and Indrapuri Colony on this transformer. It is being told that the lights suddenly went off around 12 o’clock in the night. When electricity did not come even till Saturday morning, the people of the colony informed about it.
Information was received that miscreants had stolen goods from the electrical transformer late at night. Due to which the power supply of Krishna Kunj, Nawab Vihar and Indrapuri Colony was disrupted. The people of the colony created a ruckus when the electricity officials did not give a satisfactory reply.
They allege that even after giving information, no employee or officer has come to the spot. Police reached the spot on receiving information about the uproar and pacified the people by assuring them of action.
The Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department said that efforts are being made to smooth the power supply temporarily with a trolley transformer. A new transformer will be installed soon.
