One of them is Kooth (saussurea lappa) which is found in the Himalayan region at an altitude of more than 2500 meters. This plant is included among the rare herbs of the Himalayan region. Many big pharma companies use it in medicines. Due to which it is over-exploited. Antiinflammatory, antiviral and antibacterial properties are found in this plant. Apart from this, it is used to treat many other diseases.
Dr. Jaidev Chauhan, researcher at Garhwal University’s High Peak Plant Physiology Research Center (HAPREC), told Local 18 that Kooth is also used in case of stomach ache or stomach worms. Regular consumption of its roots provides relief from these problems.

Dr. Jaidev further explains that the roots of this plant have maximum medicinal properties. Its root powder is used in cough and respiratory diseases like asthma. But it does not have to be taken directly. It has to be taken by mixing it with some other Ayurvedic medicines.

Along with these properties, antiaging and antiwrinkle properties are found in it. Due to this, many pharmaceutical companies use its roots to make medicines. Due to this, its price keeps increasing continuously in the market. The price of its roots in the market is up to Rs 400 per kg.
Helps in drying wounds
This plant is used to dry wounds. If a person gets a deep wound, then by frying the powder of its roots with oil and applying it on the wound, the wound starts drying up and gets healed quickly. It is also beneficial in itching. If any part is itching, it can be fried in oil and applied. Which provides relief.
