Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) has made a major change regarding the allotment of residential plots. The authority will now also auction residential plots. This rule will be applicable to plots larger than 150 square meters i.e. 1614 square feet. Plots smaller than this can be allotted only through e-lottery.

Till now only commercial plots and properties were auctioned in GDA. Anyone could get the property in their name by bidding through e-auction. Residential plots were allotted through lottery. That means, those whose luck was on their side could get plots. But now if people of higher income group want, they will be able to get a plot by paying a higher price. Only on the day of bidding will the bidders know which plot they have got. The authority is going to start this change with Raptinagar Extension Township and Sports City Scheme.
This is how the auction happens At present e-auction is being conducted. In this the authority will determine the base price of each plot. After this it will be uploaded on the e-auction portal. Interested people will apply online. Then online bidding will be done on the day of e-auction. Bidding will start from the base price and proceed further. The plot will be allotted based on the final bid.
No need to worry, registration money will be returned immediately GDA is going to make such arrangements that those who do not get the plot through e-lottery, their registration money will be returned to their account immediately with a nominal deduction. A portal has been prepared for this in collaboration with a private bank. Authority officials say that this will be of great convenience.
Registration for Raptinagar Extension Housing Scheme can start from 17th Registration number has been received from RERA for Raptinagar Extension Residential and Sports City Scheme. Registration for this can be started from 17th December. All preparations for starting the registration have already been completed. Allotment will also start after Makarsankranti. 1800 plots are being taken out under this scheme.
