While speaking with Local 18, Dr Rajkumar (D.U.M) of Kayakalp Herbal Clinic located in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, said that Kandali, also known as Nettle grass is a wild plant, which is mainly found in Uttarakhand. And is found in Himalayan regions. It is also called “nettle” or “sissu grass”. There are small thorns on the leaves of this plant, which cause burning sensation when touched. Kandali, which is rich in medicinal properties, contains abundant amounts of iron, calcium and vitamin C. It is used in vegetables, soups, tea and traditional medicines. It strengthens the immunity of the body. Consumption of Kandali is very useful to prevent diseases like cold and cough in winter. It is rich in Vitamin C, which provides the body with the ability to fight diseases. Apart from this, it is rich in iron, which removes blood deficiency in the body and provides relief from problems like anemia.
The antioxidants found in Kandali are also beneficial for skin and hair. It provides moisture to the skin and strengthens the hair.
