Avichal Singh, son of Lavkesh Singh, resident of Kathwara village of Bakshi Ka Talab police station area, had gone to attend the wedding ceremony. He had a dispute with Uday Pratap Singh alias Chhotu, son of Yaduveer Singh and Rajveer Singh of the same village regarding dancing here.

The people involved in the wedding procession intervened and separated the youth from both sides. At around 10.30 pm, Avichal was going back to the village by car from the marriage procession. Uday Pratap Singh and Rajveer, who were sitting in ambush on Kisan Path Outer Ring Road, tried to stop him along with six-seven of their companions.
