Bengaluru based EV manufacturer Ather Energy has announced to increase the price of its family electric scooter Rizta. According to dealer sources, the company is going to increase the prices of electric scooters by Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. The new prices will be applicable from January 1.
This electric scooter is available with 3 variants and 7 color options. Its price ranges between Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with electric scooters like TVS i-Cube, Ola S1 Air. Before the price increase, offers on scooters are also available on e-commerce Flipkart.
Ather Rizta was launched in April this year.
Rizta has been launched in 7 color options. It has 4 dual tone colors and 3 single tone colors.
India’s first e-scooter with 56 liters of boot space The company claims that it runs up to 160km on full charge. Ather says that this is the electric scooter with the largest seat and highest boot space in the electric two-wheeler segment. Rizta has a boot space of 34 liters under the seat. A small storage compartment, named ‘Joey Pocket’, has been provided on the front part of the boot to keep small items like first aid kit or dusting cloth.
Optional accessories available with the scooter include an ‘organiser’ for boot storage, which converts into a carry bag. A 22-litre ‘frank’ mounted on the scooter’s apron is also provided, which increases the storage space of the scooter to 56 litres. Apart from this, the company has introduced a new Halo helmet, with the help of which features like voice commands work.
Ather Rijta: Performance The Rizzta scooter has a 4.3 kW motor from Ather 450X. It has 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh battery pack options. The range of the small battery pack is 123 km and the range of the large battery pack is 160 km. The top speed of all variants is 80km/h. The charging time of the 2.9 kWh battery pack is 6.40 hours. Whereas, the charging time of 3.7kWh battery pack is only 4.30 hours.
Ather Rizta: Design and Hardware The design of Rizta is boxy and it has been given many powerful features which make it practical for daily use. LED light setup with LED indicators is provided in its apron. There is no light in its handle. For better visibility, the light given in the apron itself has been rotated to the left and right.
Ather branding is available on the front. A joystick-like button is provided on the left side of the handle. It has left, right, up and down buttons. It has a 7-inch touchscreen, which offers many smart connectivity features along with navigation. A small back rest is provided on the grab-rail at the rear of the scooter.
Below this there is LED taillight and Ather badging. On the side of the scooter, a footrest has been provided in the body itself for the pillion rider. For comfort riding, the scooter has dual telescopic suspension at the front. At the same time, monoshock absorber is available in the rear. For braking, Rizta has disc brake in the front wheel and drum brake in the rear.
Ather Ridge: Features The scooter’s underseat storage features a multi-purpose charging port with a power output of 18W, which can charge smartphones, laptops, tablets, portable speakers and other electronic devices. The water wading capacity of this electric family scooter is 400 mm.
Ather has introduced skid control feature in Rizta to prevent the scooter from slipping. This is Ather’s proprietary traction control system, which controls motor torque to reduce loss of traction during acceleration on low friction surfaces such as sand, gravel, water or oil.
The scooter has two riding modes – Smart Eco and Zip. Apart from this, like the 450 series, ride assist features like magic twist, autohold and reverse mode have also been provided. Apart from this, features like False Safe, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Share Live Location, Theft and Tow Detect, Find My Scooter, Magic Twist and Regenerative Braking have been provided in it.
