Haridwar. A shocking case of kidnapping of a minor girl and marrying her to a mentally handicapped person has come to light in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. The police have arrested the accused and also recovered the victim. This incident has surprised everyone. This case is of Ranipur Kotwali area of Haridwar. Here a person had filed a complaint of kidnapping of his minor daughter. In the complaint, he had alleged that Rohit Sehrawat, a resident of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, had seduced his daughter and taken him with himself.
After receiving the complaint, Haridwar Police started searching for the girl. Despite efforts for several days, the police could not find any concrete clue, but during this time a new SIM card was used on the phone of the minor girl, due to which the police came to know about her location. Based on the information, the police raided Sakarpur village of Gangoh police station area of Saharanpur district of UP, from where the girl was recovered.
Married girl with mental disability
Police investigation revealed that accused Rohit had sold the girl to a woman. The woman had bought the girl for the marriage of her mentally handicapped son. His son is 30 years old and his wife had died. The woman had asked Rohit to bring a girl. Accused Rohit seduced the minor and took him to the woman. When the girl refused to stay with the man, her phone was snatched away. Accused Rohit lived in the neighborhood of the girl’s family in Sidcul area of Haridwar and worked in a factory. Police have arrested the accused Rohit Sehrawat. The police recorded the girl’s statement in the court. After this the minor was safely handed over to his family.
