Nainital. Who does not know Neem Karoli Baba? Stories of his miracles are heard even today. Baba’s famous Kainchi Dham (Kainchi Dham Nainital) is situated in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. Presently Purnanand Tiwari’s son Umesh Tiwari is running this homestay with his family. He provides rooms to the devotees visiting Kainchi Dham at very low prices. Neem Karauli Baba had come to Kainchi Dham’s house before establishing it. In the room where Maharaj had come, he has built Baba’s temple, where people staying in his homestay take Baba’s blessings.
Had promised to come after 20 years
Umesh Tiwari tells Local 18 that his father, late Purnanand Tiwari, met Neem Karauli Baba in the year 1942 at a place named Jokhiya on the banks of Haldwani Road, near Bhumiyadhar, about 14 km from Kainchi. At that time, his father’s house was under litigation and his mill was also taken over by his cousins. While coming on foot from Nainital via Gethia, his father met Baba on the side of the road. He got scared after seeing the brilliance of the king. Then Baba called his father’s name and promised to come to his house the next day after winning the case of his house in Almora and after 20 years if he wins the case of the mill.
Purnanand Tiwari won both the cases
He said that at the same time Neem Karauli Baba told his father that he would get a truck to take him home. Then after walking a short distance, a truck came and stopped itself and the truck driver dropped his father at his home. After which the next day his father won the family case as per Maharaj ji’s advice. Time passed and exactly after 20 years, in the year 1962, the decision of the mill came, which was in favor of his father. As per Maharaj’s words, his father had won both the cases. In May, the very next month of the decision, Neem Karauli Baba’s Ambassador car suddenly stopped in front of his house and Baba got down from the car and went straight to Purnanand Tiwari’s house and called him and reminded him of the old incident. After which Purnanand Tiwari became an ardent devotee of Baba. He cooperated a lot with Baba for the construction of Kainchi temple and he remained with Baba till his last breath.
5 rooms and a cottage in a homestay
Umesh Tiwari tells that the room built at the place in the house where the feet of Neem Karauli Maharaj had fallen for the first time, has been dedicated to Baba. His temple has been built there.
