New Delhi . Vodafone Idea (Vi) has quietly started 5G services in India. Although Vodafone Idea has currently launched it only in 17 circles, it is expected to be launched in other cities also soon. The 17 cities where the telecom service provider has launched its 5G services include big cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The company’s CEO had said in January 2024 that the 5G rollout in India would start within six to seven months. However, compared to Airtel and Reliance users, Vodafone Idea users have had to wait a little longer for 5G connectivity.
Vodafone Idea (Vi) started 5G service in 17 cities
Vi is now offering 5G connectivity in 17 licensed service areas (LSA) across India. Currently, this launch is being said to be on a small scale, as the network is available at specific locations within these cities. According to the report, Vi has deployed 5G on both 3.3GHz and 26GHz spectrum. It can be used by both prepaid and postpaid users. Users will have to enable 5G in their handset.

Will have to recharge
Talking about the price, prepaid users will have to recharge a pack of Rs 475 for 5G connectivity. Whereas postpaid users will have to take REDX 1101 plan for 5G connectivity.
