There is a decline in the stock market today i.e. Thursday (19 December). Sensex is trading at the level of 79,400 with a fall of about 800 points. At the same time, Nifty has also fallen by more than 200 points, it is trading at the level of 24,000.
In Thursday’s trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 28 declined and only 2 rose. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 48 are declining and only 2 are rising. At the same time, there is a decline in all the sectoral indices of NSE today.
The biggest fall is in Nifty MIDSMALL IT & TELECOM by 2.14%, Nifty IT by 1.95%, Nifty Metal by 1.89% and Nifty PSU Bank (Government Banks) by 1.80%.
America’s Nasdaq fell by 3.56%
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is down by 0.96%, Korea’s Kospi is down by 1.46%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading down 0.70%.
- According to NSE data, net sales by foreign investors (FIIs) stood at Rs 1,316.81 crore on December 18. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 4,084.08 crore.
- On December 18, America’s Dow Jones fell 2.58% and closed at 42,326. The S&P 500 index fell 2.95% to 5,872 and the Nasdaq was down 3.56% to 19,392.
IPOs of 5 companies are opening today
Initial public offers (IPOs) of 5 companies will be open today for listing in the share market. These include Transrail Lighting Limited, DAM Capital Advisors Limited, Mamta Machinery Limited, Sanathan Textiles Limited and Concord Enviro Systems Limited.
Investors will be able to bid for all five IPOs till December 23. Their shares will be listed on National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on 27th December.

There was a decline in the stock market on Wednesday (December 18). Sensex fell 502 points and closed at 80,182. At the same time, Nifty also closed 137 points down at the level of 24,198.
In Wednesday’s trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 declined and 8 gained. Whereas, out of 50 Nifty stocks, 33 saw a decline and 17 saw a rise.
In the NSE sectoral index, Nifty Media fell the most by 2.24%, public sector banks fell by 1.92% and Nifty Metal fell by 1.36%. Whereas, there was slight growth in healthcare, IT and pharma sectors.
